PhotoBlogging: The importance of regular posting

There's lots of advice out there about blogging, and how to grow your traffic. Much of it often seems very academic or even has the feeling that, if you follow it, it would look like you're trying to spam your readership. Even so, if you're running a blog there are things that are important to do to maintain and grow your readership. As someone who has been blogging for a long time now, I thought I'd share my personal experience of one of the most important things you can do, and that's to keep posting regularly.

Squarespace tip: Increase the space between images in a stacked gallery

Here’s a quick tip for fellow Squarespace users. The Tools I use for Photoblogging

I'm starting a new section here on the blog dedicated to photoblogging. I've been writing and blogging about photography for many years now, and before that I used to blog about Apple and technology in general. In this article, I'm going to discuss some of the current  tools that I make use of when photoblogging.

Milestones & Journeys

Over the past week I've reached two very important milestones, both here on the blog and in my photography journey. Secondly, my humble little blog has passed the million viewer mark!

Trying out Medium

I'm always trying out new blogging and social platforms to see if they're worth using, especially for photographers. Lately, the one that is getting the most attention seems to be Medium, and so I thought I would try it out too. I wanted to try it both for myself, and for an experiment to see how it would work as a photo blogging platform. so I could write about it for my fellow photographers.

Adding Alt Text to Images in Squarespace

If you're running a photoblog or photography website, then you're probably already aware of the importance of properly adding descriptive text to your images. If you want to help improve how well your images and your blog is found on search engines, then properly adding alt text can make a big difference. However, if like me, you're using Squarespace as your blogging platform, then it might not be immediately obvious as to how you add this text to images. In this short post, I'll show you how to add alt text for both single image blocks and gallery blocks.
