Instagram adds Multiple Account Support
Instagram has finally added what I'm sure is probably the most requested feature: multiple account support. With the latest version of the app on both iOS and Android, you can now have more than one account (you can now have up to 5). You can also easily switch between them and post to multiple accounts as well.
This will probably come as particularly good news for photographers. I'm sure many of you, like myself, want to use Instagram as a place to share your photography, but also want to keep a separate account for sharing personal photos. Another possibility is that you want to use an Instagram account for special projects. In the past this has only been possible by using hacks, third party software, or multiple accounts, but thankfully you no longer have to jump through any hoops as there is finally official support for multiple Instagram accounts.
To add an account is easy. Just go to the options screen by tapping on the cog icon in the upper right hand corner of your profile screen. Then, scroll to the bottom of the options page, and you'll find the option to add an account. Just follow the instructions to either create a new account, or add an existing one.
Once you have added one, you can switch between them by tapping on the pop-up menu that comes up under your name at the top of the profile screen in Instagram.
To try this out, I've set up a separate Instagram account for my Streets of Dublin project, which you can find by searching Instagram for dublinstreet or by visiting the profile.
