My Wish Came True - Sort of (Fuji 16-80mm coming!)

A couple of weeks ago, I wrote about the one lens that I wished Fuji would make, which was a 16-70f/4.  Well, today, Fuji announced their new lens roadmap, and on it is a new entry - a 16-80f/4 - which is even better than what I had hoped for!

A 16-80mm would have the full frame equivalent of a 24-120, which incidentally is a lens I happen to own for my Nikon D700, and I love that lens. The roadmap slates this for a release in 2019 and there’s no idea of what price it will be, but I expect it to be €1000 or more, as Fuji lenses tend to be expensive.

They also announced the development of a 33mm f/1 - which would be an impressive achievement, as most lenses which have such a wide aperture are generally manual focus. Also on the roadmap is a 16mm f/2.8 - which will also be welcome, as the current 16mm prime is expensive.
