Luminar Flex Announced
Skylum has just announced Luminar Flex. This is basically a plug-in only version of Luminar. It seems as if they are planning to fork Luminar into two different products. Luminar Flex, which will be the plug-in version and then Luminar 3 which is the complete standalone software.
I’m not going to get into the reasoning behind this, as I don’t really know to be honest, but I will cover this in more detail soon, including a full review. For now, here’s some highlights of the official press release:

Luminar Flex features incredible adjustments and effects that can’t be found anywhere else. Luminar Flex plugin fits into almost every photographer’s workflow, integrating with third-party tools like Photoshop, Lightroom Classic, Photoshop Elements and Photos for macOS.

If you’re wondering how this is different from running Luminar 3 as a plug-in, I’m not sure to be honest, but I will try and find out. I don’t really know what to make of this, but I can kind of understand, as I almost exclusively use Luminar as a plug-in, but I’m sure there will be lots of “discussions” about this. I will review this and offer more thoughts as soon as I’ve had a chance to try it out properly.
