Adobe Finally Added Camera Matching Profiles for Newer Canon Cameras including the Eos R5 and EosR6
I’m not sure how I missed this, but there was an issue with Lightroom and Camera Raw for Canon shooters that I had been reporting on for some time, that has finally been resolved. For some reason, Adobe hadn’t been adding camera matching profiles for newer Canon cameras. Specifically they hadn’t been adding profiles for cameras that used the .CR3 file format. Thankfully, Adobe has started addressing this.
The first update that added camera matching profiles for newer Canon cameras came out in October 2021 and added support for the following cameras:
- Canon EOS R3
- Canon EOS R5
- Canon EOS R6
- Canon EOS-1D X Mark III
This addressed some of the newer and higher end cameras. So if you had bought an Eos R5 or R6 and were miffed that there was no Eos R6 or Eos R5 camera matching profiles in Lightroom, then this has thankfully now been addressed.
Then in December they added most of the rest of the missing cameras:
- Canon EOS M50 Mark II
- Canon EOS 850D (EOS Kiss X10i, EOS Rebel T8i)
- Canon EOS Ra
- Canon EOS M200
- Canon EOS 90D
- Canon EOS M6 Mark II
- Canon EOS 250D (EOS Rebel SL3, EOS 200D II, EOS Kiss X10)
- Canon EOS RP
I’m pretty sure that this was the most of the outstanding models. If there are still Canon cameras without camera matching profiles, jump in and let us know in the comments. I don’t see any of the newer G7X series or other compact cameras here, so it’s possible that they’re still missing.
