Random Acts of Photography: A Photo Walk Through Dublin
Sometimes I just like to go for a walk with my camera, without intent or purpose. Just to see what one can see. This was one of those days. I set out with my Sony A6000 and Sigma 30mm lens. I didn’t really have any goals in mind. I just wanted to go for a walk and hopefully find some nice images.
I ended up being quite lucky. The Autumn sunshine was providing some really interesting pockets of light, and I managed to get some great shots of people in just the right place. My biggest success was the shot with the multicoloured shutter. I have taken photos of this many times (magpie syndrome) and I couldn’t believe my luck as someone with the same coloured coat walked by, just as I had lined up in time!
I wasn’t really aiming for Street Photography though. It was more just looking for interesting things. In the park, the light was falling in little pools as the leaves begin to fall from the trees, and I found a nice brown leaf, just sitting in one of those pools, almost like it was being lit by a spotlight.
In another shot, I found this entrance to a Pub just off the city centre, which had the light falling in a beam into the doorway, that I also thought made a great subject.
I processed the using Capture One, and I posted a complete workflow video of editing this for my Patreon members as part of my fortnightly editing series for gold members. If you want to see these images larger and on a plain background, I have also posted this set to my Photo Journal page.
