Updated Plan for my Next Capture One Guide
One of the first Fuji X-Trans guides that I had put out, is my “Workflow and Settings for Processing Fuji X-Trans Raw Files in Capture One”. This, while something of a mouthful, got the ball rolling. I have done my best to keep updating it with new versions as the software got updated, but at some point, it started to get messy.
I wanted to redo it with a brand new version, and every time I try and lay it out, I just can’t find a way to structure the project properly, that will make sense. There’s lots I want to include, but most of it isn’t specifically for X-Trans files. Then, as I was thinking about something else, an idea come to me. Why not just make it generic, but with extra actions specifically for various camera types, including Fuji obviously. I had been planning to write some material on using Sony files with capture One too, so it makes sense to do it in one volume.
So the idea now is to create a guide for Capture One users, who maybe have just switched, or are still getting to grips with the software. It will be for beginners, but not absolute beginners. I also want to aim it at Lightroom switchers, or at least regular Lightroom shooters who may want to use Capture One too.
So, at this point, I have two options. I could do it strictly for Lightroom Shooters, and call it: “Capture On for Lightroom Users” or I could do it more generally and call it “Capture One Up to Speed” or something similar. Alternatively, I could do it as a collection of short Capture One tips, that you could delve into at any point, and just read sections of. That way there would be something for everyone, or do you think a more structured approach would be better?
Anyway, let me know what you think in the comments, and which approach you would prefer. I would really appreciate the feedback.
