Nik Collection 4.3 Update Released
DxO labs has just released the latest update to the Nik software collection. The latest release, version 4.3 features new presets to “enhances the character of landscape and travel photographs” according to the press release.
Here’s what the press release says about the new presets:
35 new nature-inspired pre-sets
Nik Color Efex now features “The Seasons”, four pre-sets that evoke the different stages of the year. For example, “Winter” gives landscapes an icy, chilly atmosphere by accentuating cool tones, while “Autumn” pushes green foliage towards red, orange, and yellow, giving an authentic sense of warmth.
Nik HDR Efex gains five new presets. The “Tonal Landscapes” series offers allows users to enhance the soft greens of spring foliage, uncover the glow of golden hour, or reveal the calm blueness of dawn.
In Nik Analog Efex, users can give their photographs a vintage feel through the six “Landscapes of Yesteryear” pre-sets, designed to infuse images with a refined, antique quality that will take viewers back in time.
The six “Dramatic Landscapes” pre-sets new to Nik Silver Efex will reveal the true character of black and white landscape photographs. Users can remove haze to draw out the detail of sweeping landscapes, add intensity to the skies to give approaching storms an ominous feel, and introduce grain to give photographs extra depth.
Six Meta-pre-sets — actions that blend together filters and settings from multiple Nik Collection plugins for quick application — are available for Adobe Photoshop users. Images can be transformed in a single click, perhaps to create the ambience of those fleeting moments just before dawn, or the luxurious glimmer of a lazy summer evening.
The latest update is available now, and for those who don’t already have the software, the company is having a special offer on for Christmas, with 30% off until December 31st.
Photographers who already own Nik Collection 3 by DxO or a previous version can upgrade their software by signing into their customer accounts. A fully functional, one-month trial version of Nik Collection 4.3 is available on the DxO website.
