Lightroom Pro Tip: Quickly Reset Adjustments Without Losing Your Crop with a Zero All Preset

In this video I show you a handy workflow tip to make it easier to reset your adjustments in Lightroom without reseting your Crop or Geometry edits.

You’ve probably come across this situation in Lightroom: You’re working on an image, and you’ve made some adjustments, maybe straightened the image, and used upright to fix the geometry, but you decide you want to start again with the adjustments. However, you don’t want to reset your crop or your geometry correction. Or maybe you have straightened an image and then you want to try a new version so you create a new virtual copy, and again, you want to reset the adjustments without affecting the crop where you straightened the image. How do you do it?

Well, the solution is pretty simple. All you need to do is create a “Zero Adjustments” preset. Simply go to a new or unedited image that has everything zeroed out, and save a preset with all the adjustments set to zero, but turn off the settings that you don’t want reset, such as the geometry settings etc. Here is what I used in the example in this video:

And that’s pretty much all there is to it. Once you save the preset you can add it to your favourites so it’s always at the top of the Adjustments panel.
