DxO Announces PureRAW 5 with Local Adjustments and DeepPRIME 3

DxO Announces PureRAW 5 with Local Adjustments and DeepPRIME 3

DxO has announced PureRAW 5, the latest version of its RAW processing software, set for release on April 15, 2025. The update introduces local adjustments for targeted noise reduction and sharpening, a redesigned interface, and the third generation of the DeepPRIME denoising engine. Fujifilm users also gain access to a new DeepPRIME XD3 X-Trans Beta mode for enhanced detail recovery.

New Features in DxO PureRAW 5

Local Adjustments for Noise Reduction and Sharpening A significant addition in this release is the ability to apply local adjustments to denoising and sharpening. Instead of applying corrections uniformly across an image, users can now fine-tune the amount of sharpening and denoising in areas using masks. Users can create multiple masks and precisely adjust the Force Details and Luminance sliders to achieve their desired effects. Moreover, it’s possible to target sharpening more precisely, focusing on specific areas of the image.

DeepPRIME 3: Improved Noise Reduction and Detail Extraction DxO’s AI-driven DeepPRIME technology has been upgraded to its third generation. This version adds a new stage in the RAW processing pipeline to correct residual chromatic shifts at the pixel level, improving colour accuracy. Thanks to the data it draws from DxO’s proprietary DxO Modules, DeepPRIME 3 now resolves chromatic aberration as part of the RAW conversion process.

Redesigned Interface and Workflow Enhancements PureRAW 5 features a new interface aimed at improving usability. The update includes the ability to create custom presets, allowing photographers to save frequently used settings for different cameras, lenses, or shooting scenarios. This should help streamline batch processing and reduce the need for repetitive adjustments.

DeepPRIME XD3 X-Trans Beta for Fujifilm Users Fujifilm photographers using X-Trans sensors now have early access to DeepPRIME XD3 X-Trans Beta, an extended version of DxO’s noise reduction and detail extraction engine. This is designed to offer improved performance at high ISO levels, where previous processing methods struggled.

DxO Optics Modules PureRAW 5 continues to leverage DxO Optics Modules, which provide tailored lens and sensor corrections based on lab-measured data. DxO has now created over 100,000 of these modules, refining its ability to correct optical imperfections at a granular level.
