Alpine for Lightroom & Photoshop now Available
I’m pleased to announce that my latest set of Lightroom presets are now finally available. I had previewed these a while ago, with the intention of releasing them shortly thereafter, but then Adobe went and changed the preset format, so I had to delay the launch until I made sure everything was working ok. The advantage of the delay is that the set is now compatible with both Photoshop and Lightroom, and I’ve also included 5 creative profiles too. So without further ado, introducing Alpine for Lightroom and Photoshop.
My new Fuji Jpeg Guide is now Available
I’m happy to announce that my latest in a series of guides for Fuji X-Series cameras is now available. The official title is “Fuji Jpegs: A Guide to Shooting and Processing” is a 76 page guide with tips and techniques for getting the best results when shooting with Fuji’s Jpeg engine.
Introducing Film Candy LUTS
I’m happy to introduce my first new digital product of 2018, and something that I’ve been working on for quite some time. Today I’m launching a new set of LUTs based on my “Film Candy” series of Lightroom presets. This set of 75 LUTs contains looks from both Film candy 1 and 2 and have been designed to be used in popular video applications as well as stills software such as Luminar 2018 and Photoshop.
What I’ve been doing on Patreon (Shameless Plug)
I’ve been running my Patreon membership for a couple of months now, and so far there’s been a fairly good response. It was kind of hard to explain what it was going to be when I fist started it, and even for myself, it was hard to exactly figure out what it was going to be. Now that it’s been up for a few months, I thought I’d share some of the details of what I’ve been doing on the channel, or page, or whatever you call it!
Store Problems
I have had to temporarily disable sales on my online store as a technical problem has occurred that is affecting payment processing. I am working with the server administrators in my hosting company to resolve the issue, but in order to prevent any problems with customer purchases I am disabling sales until I can find a solution. I am also putting backup plan into place should this take too long to resolve.
My X-Transformer Guide Updated
I have updated my Iridient X-Transformer Guide with new information to cover the latest release. The new update of the guide (v1.2) covers beta 4 of X-Transformer, and includes details on using the new plug-in as well as the new options for preserving the film simulation modes as colour profiles.
More Details abut my New Membership Subscription on Patreon
It’s been over a week since I stared offering a membership option on Patreon, and I want to thank those who’ve already joined up. I also realised that I didn’t explain it very well the last time I posted about it, so allow me to elaborate a bit.
I’m on Patreon
I’m happy to announce that I’ve just launched a Patreon Membership Page. For a while now, people have been asking me for a way to support the site and the things that I do, and while I’ve had a great response to the eBooks and Presets that I publish, they’re not for everyone. aWith that in mind, I wanted to create a way for anyone who wants to support my photography writing, and the research that I do, in a reasonable way.
Why I Switched from Phtoshelter to Photodeck
For quite a while I’ve been using Photoshelter to host my online image library. Initially it served as a place that I could deliver image files to clients, sell stock and also manage print sales. I really liked the service and it had a lot to offer, but I’m afraid that I’ve had to move to a different host. I didn’t want to, but the reason was quite simple. After two years or saying that they would do something about it, Photoshelter still didn’t properly support EU Vat law.
My New “Camera Samples” Section on the Website
I’ve been updating and modifying some parts of my website recently, with more changes planned in the near future. There’s one new section that I wanted to let you know about as I think you might find it useful. On my portfolio and services site, I’ve added a new section for “Camera Samples”.
The New Store, The Same as The Old Store. Mostly
Before Christmas I talked about my plans for moving to a new store platform. I had been having numerous problems, and I put them down to issues with WordPress and WooCommerce. The plan was to move to Shopify. This was in my mind the only solution, but it wasn’t something to which I was looking forward. Luckily I found a better alternative, and so here’s an update as to what’s happening.

Following on from yesterdays post about my new site design, I wanted to update you on some more important updates and changes for the new year. The first concerns my Capture One guide. The second concerns my online store, and if you’ve purchased anything from me in the past, this is an important update, so please read it when you get the chance.
Changing Things Up A Bit
I’ve been feeling lately that my site design had been getting a little stale. What’s more, it was dictating to me how I approached my posts, and it was getting to the point where I really wasn’t happy with it. It wasn’t just the design in terms of what you see but also the functionality. I was adding bits on and using some cheats to get around certain functions that the theme didn’t have, and it was starting to look dated.
