DxO Releases Nik Collection 8.1 with Free Bonus Software Offer

DxO Releases Nik Collection 8.1 with Free Bonus Software Offer

DxO has announced the release of Nik Collection 8.1, an incremental update to its suite of photo editing plugins. The update brings performance improvements and new usability features. From now until July 27, 2025, customers who purchase Nik Collection 8.1, either as a new license or an upgrade, can choose a free copy of either DxO PhotoLab 8 Essential Edition or DxO ViewPoint 5.

Nik Collection 8.1 introduces a few notable refinements. In Silver Efex, users can now toggle between the edited version and the original colour image while working in black and white. This makes it easier to fine-tune tonal choices and filter settings. Additionally, the update includes performance and stability improvements across all plugins.

If you buy a new license or upgrade from a previous version (version 7 or earlier) you can choose between two bonus applications offered with this release. DxO PhotoLab 8 Essential Edition provides RAW processing capabilities, aimed at those seeking a more complete editing workflow. Alternatively, DxO ViewPoint 5 focuses on correcting geometric distortions and perspective issues, which may be useful for architectural and interior photography.

This update builds on the larger feature set introduced in version 8.0, which included a new Photoshop masking workflow, Smart Object and layer support, the ability to transfer masks between plugins, and a redesigned dockable panel in Photoshop. Silver Efex and Color Efex also received interface and local adjustment updates in that version.

Nik Collection 8.1 is available now for macOS and Windows. Pricing is €159.99 / $159.99 / £145.99 for a new license, or €89.99 / $89.99 / £79.99 as an upgrade from version 6 or 7. A 30-day trial is also available from the DxO website.
