Fix a stuck preview in the Lightroom Develop Module
Here's a quick tip for you. One of the things that I find happens in Lightroom every now and again is that the preview in the Develop module (The navigator) gets stuck and stops responding. It can be really annoying when this happens, especially if you are trying out presets and want to see what one will look like before you apply it.
I had searched for the solution online, and the usual response was to go back to the Library module, and then back to the develop module. In practice I haven't found this to be a great answer, and it doesn't always solve the problem. Sometimes, when you go back the preview will be working again, but then it gets stuck once more a few minutes later. In the past, I've found myself quitting and restarting Lightroom to get over this.
Over the weekend I was working on some Images and I came across a possible fix for this, completely by accident. All you need to do is go down to the Film Strip and hover over or select the image you're currently on. At first I thought I was seeing things, but then it happened to me again a few minutes later, and I tried the same thing, and the preview started responding again.
I can't say for certain that this works every time, as it's only happened to me a few times since discovering the fix. However, the next time this happens to you, try this and if it works let me know.
