Shooting on a Dull Day
At this time of the year, the days can get very dark and dreary here in Ireland. With the short winter days, when it’s sunny it’s actually quite beautiful, but when it clouds over, it becomes very dark and dreary. On days like this, it’s often tempting not to bother shooting, and certainly, I’ve been put off by what seems like bad light. However, as Jay Maisel once said, there’s no such thing as bad light, just difficult light.
Overcast: More Examples of QuickLux 2 in Action
Over on my Photo Journal I posted some images I took recently while out in the local parks here after a rain storm. I had taken these with my old Canon 5d Mark 1 and I processed them using the QuckNeg presets in my QuickLux 2 pack. This kind of deep green, overcast look is exactly what I was trying to create when I was developing these looks.
A Sneak Peek at QuickLux 2
I’ve been busy working on my March set of Lightroom Presets, and they’re nearly ready. I’m really happy with how these are turning out, so I wanted to share some of the testing with you. Basically, the next set will be a sequel to QuickLux. Unimaginatively called QuickLux 2, it will, like the first set of QuickLux presets, include some of my personal artists interpretation of negative, and transparency films.
