Video: How to import into Lightroom directly from a Memory Card on iPAD OS
One of the new features of iPadOS that was announced was the ability to import images directly into apps from attached storage, without having to go through the camera roll. Unfortunately not many apps have been updated to take advantage of this yet, including Lightroom. However, there is a pretty simple work around and in this video I show you what to do.
The process is actually pretty simple. Instead of trying to import from within Lightroom, go to the Files app. From there you should be able to see an attached memory card. Simply select all the images on the card, and then using the “share” option, you can send your images directly to Lightroom.
Hopefully Lightroom mobile will be updated soon so that you can just go straight to the memory card from within the software, but for now this is the simplest way to do it. It can be a little slow if you’re trying to import a lot of images at once, but otherwise it seems to work well.

This blog is pretty much my day job now and I work to bring you my own take on photography, both tutorials and tips, as well as inspiration from my own art. Running all this isn’t cheap, and so If you like what you see and you want to help keep this all going, I support this work, and my YouTube channel entirely either via sales of my eBooks and Lightroom presets, or the kind support of my readers.
