As promised in my post yesterday, here are the rest of the (reasonably good) shots that I took in my wander around the city between the rain clouds. I won't bore you with a long introduction (see yesterday's post for the details) and just get straight to the pictures…..
No bike sign on the railings around the bank on Dame street. I can't help myself from photographing this every time I pass - I just love the texture and the grungey details.
"Pendent Newspapers" - It's news you hang around your neck! (Kidding aside, notice the detail in the cracked paint on the letters)
G.P.O. on O'Connell Street. The infamous site of the Irish uprising against British rule in 1916. Still an active post office amazingly enough!
One lone Garda (police) van against the hordes of Dublin. Funnily enough, I didn't see a single Guard anywhere on my entire trip from one side of the city centre to the other, so I guess they were all in the van.
I don't get who this message is aimed at? If it's for the guy wearing the vest, why is it on his back?
Obligatory faux tilt-shift effect! Come on, you know I had to do one eventually! (using Photoshop 6's new tilt shift filter!)
"Where's me map"
It was very kind of the people covering the stop sign with graffiti to leave the "stop" part clear. Those two really look like they're on a mission too. Maybe they're time travelers.
The busy crossing at dame street. I love how almost everyone's wearing dark colors except the one woman in the bright red coat!
The weather claims another victim!
This shot actually looks great full res on a big screen. You can really see the texture and detail in the white overall.
I love this retro signage on Marks and Spensers.
Another man with a sign.
Well, that's about it. The weather is finally supposed to break tomorrow so hopefully I'll finally get to see what the X-Pro1 can too in good light. I was hoping to have the 60mm lens by now too, but unfortunately there's a wait. I was in my dealer today and they said it would be another three weeks, which seems a little excessive. I have one other place left to try so fingers crossed. I really miss having a longer focal length so I hope I'll be able to get hold of one. A big thanks to everyone for the kind comment's I've been getting.
