Recent Store Improvements & Some Useful Articles
I'm always trying to improve my digital download store and provide the best possible experience for my customers (within my limited skills!) To that end I've made a few changes to the store and added a few new features.
Store News is now "Store Blog"
The Store has it's own dedicated blog, which I'd previously used just for news and announcements. Well, I've changed this to now be "Store Blog" which will feature some useful tips and tricks to help you use my products and get the most from them. I've already added two new posts which you may find useful regardless of whether or not you've bought anything before!
The first article shows you some examples and ways to customise Lightroom presets to save time. For example, if you're always doing the same tweaks after you've applied a preset, the article shows you how to make a custom version.
The second article shows you how to use my e-books on an iPad. Because some of my books come as zipped files, this may be a bit confusing, so I've detailed how to deal with this and I show you several ways to view your e-books on an iPad
New Help Centre (Beta)
I'm currently trying out a new help centre. This will be a whole new support site dedicated to my download store and the products. It will hopefully allow customers to get to the right support quicker and easier. The new site is powered by Zendesk, and features a FAQ with solutions to common problems you might experience purchasing and using my presets and guides.
It also offers some additional helpful articles and links, and most importantly, it includes a proper ticket based support system. So you can send a request for help, and you will be able to track and see your support responses. This makes it easier for me to make sure I don't miss a support request, and for the customer, to make sure they see all responses, and to make it easier to follow up an issue in the future.
I'm still testing it, and I'm continuing to add new articles to the FAQ and other areas of the Help centre, but it's fully working, so if you're looking for help with any of my products or the store, feel free to use it and try it out.
Speed Improvements
One other thing that I've done recently, is to improve some things on the back end, and update the caching, so the store should now be a bit faster. As I'm not a web developer, and I'm trying to do this myself, and because there's a lot of parameters to tweak, and some of it is a bit confusing, if you come across any issues, please let me know!
