How to Use DxO PhotoLab to pre-process Fuji Raw files for Lightroom

DXO labs recently added Fujifilm support to PhotoLab 5, the companies Raw processing application. The support is currently in beta, but my initial testing shows that it gives promising results, that are among the best you can achieve. DXO’s Raw Pre-Processing application, Pure Raw, currently does not support Fuji files. However, if you want to use DXO’s technology with Lightroom, you can still use PhotoLab as a way to pre-bake your Fujifilm Raw files for use with Adobe applications.

DXO Announces Film Pack 6

In addition to releasing a new version of DXO PhotoLab, the company has also released a new version of its film simulation software: Film Pack. This latest version introduces new films, cinematographic renderings, and Fujifilm in addition to support for X-Trans RAW files (Beta). It features a wide array of new effects as well as a new featured called Time Machine, which gives users a unique and interactive introduction to the history of film photography.

Capture One today announced the latest point release for Capture One 21 and it contains a couple of new features. The company has been on a roll of late, with each point release adding new functionality to the software. This release sees a new export interface added, a new “magic brush” for making quick selections, and a much requested change to the way catalogues handle sub-folders.

DXO labs has just released an updated of the venerable Nik Collection, which includes a number of new features. The biggest updates within the “Nik Collection 4” bundle are Silver Efex and Viveza, both of which are significant updates with new interfaces and under the hood changes, including much more control over u-points.

DXO labs today announced the release of a brand new Application called “Pure Raw”. So what is “Pure Raw”? It is a RAW pre-processing application that uses the DXO engine to convert your raw files into DNGs using DXO’s demosiacing and lens correction technology, and more importantly their highly regarded Deep Prime AI based noise reduction. This results in a file that can still be edited much like a RAW file, keeping the ability to change white balance, recover highlights and so on, while taking advantage of DXOs imaging technology.
