Here's a little bit of fun for a dull and wet monday morning. Well, ok, it's dull and wet here. Given the crazy weather conditions around the globe right now, I'm sure many would give their right arm for dull and wet. Anyway, I was about to go out yesterday when it started lashing rain….again. So, frustrating and all as it was I did notice that the rain falling on my balcony was making some pretty cool splashes. They were forming and gone in the blink of an eye so I thought capturing was going to be a bit of a challenge. It turned out to be pretty easy. I just set my D700 on high speed mode, focussed on the hand rail and held the shutter down until the buffer ran out. Simple, but effective. So the moral of the story is, when the weather gods hand you lemons, make lemonade. Or, something along those lines….
It's like little tiny explosions! Just as I was finished playing around I caught this shot of a hardy gentleman out for a stroll in the rain.
I love the red against the green, and I literally just snapped this, but the framing worked out perfect. I do love how the D700 renders green too. Especially in darkened weather. It's so rich and yet natural.
