New Video: How to add “Tonal Contrast” controls in Capture One
I know it's been a while since I've done any videos or tutorials, but with recent events it's been difficult, and so I'm only getting back into it now. Anyway, I hope you find this useful. In this video I show you how to do “Tonal Contrast” in Capture One
I had been playing with another piece of software which had a Tonal Contrast tool in it, and I thought to myself - "I could do that in Capture One"...
So I did!
One of the things I love about Capture One is that the combination of layer and masking tools allow you to create complex effects that you other wise wouldn't have in the software, and by stringing these together you can create additional tools quite easily. I did this previously with my Dehaze layer (and a few others too)
If you don't know what tonal contrast is - it's basically splitting the contrast controls up into separate shadow, mid and highlight controls. It's called different things in different software, and the term "tonal contrast" has been used for other things too, but this is basically what it is.
I will try and create an AppleScript to make this easier in the future (but it’s not my strong point so bear with me!)
