Capture One 22 Version 15.3 Released
Seems to be the day for updates! Not long after Adobe went live with the latest round of updates for the Lightroom and Photoshop ecosystem, Capture One has released the latest update for Capture One. Bringing the version number to 15.3 the latest update to Capture One 22 features several new features, a refined interface, and improved tethering.
DXO Photo Lab 5.2 Released - Important notes for Fuji and Apple Silicon Users
DXO quietly released the latest update to DXO Photo Lab sometime recently. I don’t know when exactly this was as there was no press release or anything and I wasn’t really paying that much attention to the software update notices, but it’s actually an important release for two reasons. It brings improvements to Fuji support and improves the way Fuji cameras are handled in an important way. It also makes us aware of a bug in the latest MacOS and offers a work around. Capture One 15.2 Released. Adds new Auto Perspective Tool & Other features
Capture One has just released a new version of the software with some new features, bug fixes and improvements. This release brings Capture One to 15.2. The big new feature is an AI-based auto-perspective-correction tool, similar to Lightroom’s “Upright” feature. Also included, is an improved auto-straighten tool.

Today DXO Labs announced the release of the second version of DXO Purer Raw. In case you haven’t heard of Pure Raw before it’s DXO Labs’s Raw pre-processing software. It allows you to take advantage of the company’s excellent Ai-based noise reduction and demosiacing technologies, while still using your favourite editing application. The new release adds to major new features: Fuji X-Trans support and much improved workflow options.

DxO labs has just released the latest update to the Nik software collection. The latest release, version 4.3 features new presets to “enhances the character of landscape and travel photographs” according to the press release.
Iridient X-Transformer Updated
It’s been quite a while since we got an update to Iridient X-Transformer, and I was beginning to get a bit worried about the future of the software. Some users had also written to me expressing their concern. Luckily my fears were unnecessary, and there is now a new version (Version 2.01) which brings support for all of the recent Fujifilm cameras as well as native Apple silicon compatibility.
How to Use DxO PhotoLab to pre-process Fuji Raw files for Lightroom
DXO labs recently added Fujifilm support to PhotoLab 5, the companies Raw processing application. The support is currently in beta, but my initial testing shows that it gives promising results, that are among the best you can achieve. DXO’s Raw Pre-Processing application, Pure Raw, currently does not support Fuji files. However, if you want to use DXO’s technology with Lightroom, you can still use PhotoLab as a way to pre-bake your Fujifilm Raw files for use with Adobe applications.

DXO Announces Film Pack 6
In addition to releasing a new version of DXO PhotoLab, the company has also released a new version of its film simulation software: Film Pack. This latest version introduces new films, cinematographic renderings, and Fujifilm in addition to support for X-Trans RAW files (Beta). It features a wide array of new effects as well as a new featured called Time Machine, which gives users a unique and interactive introduction to the history of film photography.

However the big one, and the one I never thought I would ever see, is that the software now supports FujiFilm X-Trans cameras. DXO have just released an update to DXO PureRAW bringing the version number to 1.5 . This new release adds some more control over corrections, and support for more cameras and lenses.
Nik Collection Update Fixes Capture One Workflow, Adds M1 Native Photoshop Support
Version 4.2 of the Nik Software suite has been released, and it fixes the bug that prevented the applications working with Capture One. This release also allows the suite to work with Photoshop running natively on an Apple Silicon Mac. Read on for more details.
